Food Challenge: Apples

Last updated on August 31, 2010 by Liza Hawkins

September starts tomorrow which means it’s time for another food challenge! I think We had a lot of fun with the last challenge, and with fall around the corner and everyone already dreaming of cooler weather, scarves, and changing leaves, I think something fall-ish would be fun!
So, here it is….

September Food Challenge: Apples!

Please comment with your favorite apple recipes – they can be sweet or savory! I’ll make a poll out of five of the recipes, and then it will be up to you again to decide what I should make. I’m really looking forward this month’s challenge; I love cooking with apples!

  1. I have had a couple of dishes with apples and onions cooked and put over pork chops. One of my favorites! We are about to try a turkey sausage with granny smith applies dish.

  2. I made an apple crisp last week that got good reviews. I wanted a quick dessert to take to a friends house. Served it with vanilla ice cream! When I was little my Mom would make baked apples. She would core out the center, but leave the bottom, and stuff with brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, etc. so yummy!
