Last night I watched the second episode in Season 3 of Downton Abbey.
To say I’m obsessed with this PBS Masterpiece Theater drama is putting it lightly. When I first discovered the series last year, it had already ended its normal run on TV, so I had to watch On Demand through my cable provider.
On Demand means no pausing. No breaks. Constant Downton Abbey.
I wasn’t complaining, but my kids and husband certainly don’t have the same love for this early 20th Century drama that I do, so I happily watched alone.
The costumes, the accents, the estate, the lifestyle – I want to live it! You know, in my bizarro life.
After voraciously making my way through Season 1, I was lucky enough to catch Season 2 on PBS.org – streaming free! – before it was removed. It took one Saturday, with hubs playing single dad, for me to get through it.
And then I had to wait. SIX. LONG. MONTHS.
And now Season 3 is being watched real time. Whoop!
Recently I stumbled across two things on the web that any Downton lover would appreciate, so I feel the need to share again. Enjoy!
If you haven’t already jumped on the Downton Abbey bandwagon, you should. BUT, don’t start with Season 3, which started two weeks ago. You must start at the beginning so you can fall in love with the characters. Season 1 is currently on Netflix, and Season 2? Well, they were playing it on PBS, but I’m not sure if you’ll be able to find it free anywhere…. But, believe me, you’ll try! It’ll hook ya.
