American Food Holidays | November 26 – December 2

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and this is the transition week into December. Hard to believe 2012 is coming to a close!

I’ve seen countless posts and photos from friends who have already put their Christmas trees up. Maybe I just never noticed before (possible), but it seems like a tremendous number of you Christmas-celebrating folks have gotten in the spirit early this year. Decorations, trees, lights – all of it.

It might be two weeks before our tree goes up. But I’m feeling a little peer pressure, so perhaps the wreath needs to be hung on the front door as a gesture of merriment.

In the meantime, I’ve been thinking about the kids’ Christmas gifts. And lucky me, my friend Heather at (cool) progeny has released the (cool) approved holiday guide 2012! A lot of hard work goes into this, and she showcases 100 different gift ideas from local small businesses (local = Baltimore, Md.).

Also? The guide gives ideas for the perfect kid-friendly cookie exchange, craft ideas and holiday mocktails – but that’s just the beginning! Take a peek and you’ll fall in love.

Okay, onward to this week’s food holidays (beware if you have a sweet tooth)….
